Able Sail Manitoba, operating under Disabled Sail Manitoba Inc. is a registered charitable organization.

Our Mission is to provide Manitobans with disabilities the opportunity to access and enjoy sailing activities while promoting enhanced independence and community.

Our Goals

• To provide sailing opportunities for Manitobans regardless of disability age or economic means

• To provide a unique, enjoyable experience for our participants which includes opportunities for social, recreational, rehabilitative and competitive activities

• To build confidence and self-esteem and enhance independence for people with mobility or other impairments

• 
  To facilitate integration of disabled and able-bodied recreation and competition

Our goals, therefore, are both rehabilitative and recreational.  Sailing programs across North America have demonstrated that there is a notable increase in self-esteem and confidence when disabled sailors find themselves sailing independently with other, able-bodied, sailors.
